Pointe West is a private resort community exclusive to residents and rental guests. Galveston Island is 32 miles long; Pointe West encompasses the last 3 miles of the island and reaches from the Gulf of Mexico to Galveston Bay. At Pointe West, the distance from the gulf to the bay is only a few hundred yards.

Tips to make your vacation at Point West more enjoyable:
Be mindful of the speed limit, particularly in the town of Jamaica Beach, which is on Hwy 3005 en-route to Pointe West. The 35-mph speed limit must be strictly observed.
It's a good idea to stop by a grocery store before you come out to Pointe West, we are about 8 miles from a small market.
- Randall's - 61st and Central City Blvd. (Recommended)
- Kroger's - 57th and Seawall.
- Walmart - Central City Blvd. and Seawall.
- Seven Seas grocery- located on FM 3005 just outside of Jamaica Beach. This is the small food market that is 8 miles from the resort.
Is there a minimum stay?
March to September - 3 night minimum stay
October to February - 2 night minimum stay
What is the check-in and check-out time?
Check In: 4 p.m. Check Out: 11 a.m.
What is the minimum age required to rent a unit?
You must be a minimum of 21 years of age.
What is your cancellation policy?
A deposit equal to 50% of your total stay, including tax, is due at the time of reservation. The full amount of your stay is due 7 days prior to your arrival. If you need to cancel your reservation for any reason, please do so at least 30 days prior to the date of your arrival in order to receive a refund of your deposit. Cancellation less than 30 days in advance of your arrival date will result in forfeiture of your full deposit.
Do I need to place a deposit to guarantee my reservation?
A valid MasterCard, Visa or American Express card is required to complete a reservation. A deposit of 50% of the stay total will be charged to the credit card at the time of confirmation of the booking. No refunds will be given for early departures

Do you offer any discounts?
Stays of 5 nights or more may be discounted, depending on the season. We invite you to discuss this further with the Front Desk staff.
All Pointe West vacation rental units include:

- Luxury soaps and shampoos in each bathroom

Do you have Smoking Units?
All of our cottages and villas are designated as non-smoking.
What do I need to bring with me?
We recommend you bring the essentials that you always take with you when you travel, such as clothing, medications, hair dryer, sunscreen, etc.
You may want to stop by a grocery store on your way to Pointe West and pick up the food and drink items you may want for your stay.
What about housekeeping?
A non-refundable housekeeping fee of $130 will be charged to your account upon departure.
Do you allow pets?
We have limited availability of units that allow pets. If you would like to bring your pet, please make this request at the time you make your reservation. The Reservations staff will do its best to secure a pet-friendly unit for you. No pets over 24 lbs are allowed. If we do not have a pet-friendly unit available, you may choose to board your pet at a nearby veterinary boarding facility. There is a $99.00 non-refundable pet fee.
Is there WiFi access at Pointe West?
Some villas and cottages have Internet access; WiFi access is available in the Sea Mist Lounge at our Beach Club.
Is Pointe West affiliated with RCI or other exchange program?
No, Pointe West is not a timeshare/interval ownership resort.
What's the difference between a Cottage and a Villa?
A cottage is a free-standing home on a lot of its own. A Villa is a residence in multi-residence, multi-story building, like a condominium. Villa buildings have elevators; the Cottages do not. Parking for villas and cottages is at ground-floor level. At present, there are no handicap-accessible cottages.
How far is it to the beach from my villa?
Pointe West is a Gulf- and bay-front resort. If you are staying on the Gulf side of the resort, your villa is approximately 100 to 200 yards from the beach, depending on location.
How far is it to the bay from my villa?
Pointe West is a Gulf- and bay-front resort. If you are staying on the bay side of the resort, your villa may be 30 to 200 yards from the bay, depending on your villa's location.
How are the views from the villas?
All of our villa buildings have been strategically angled so that every unit is facing either the Gulf of Mexico or Galveston Bay.
How's the parking around the cottages?
Parking at one of our cottages is like parking at a house. There is room for 2 cars to park in the driveway; parking is also available on the street.
How's the parking at the villas?
There are 9 parking spaces on the ground-floor level, under each of the villa buildings, plus one reserved space for handicap parking.
Is the Beach accessible to the disabled?
Several of the dune crossovers are accessible for the disabled.
What kinds of activities does Pointe West provide? Is there a cost for these activities?
Some examples of planned activities are: video game contests, Texas Hold æEm nights, s'mores at the fire pit, kite flying, bike riding, and kayaking in our lagoons and in the Gulf of Mexico.
Many of our scheduled activities are complimentary; some food-and-beverage-based activities may have a nominal charge.
What is there to do for children, teens, and adults?
In addition to the allure of the Gulf and the bay and related water activities such as kayaking, swimming, and fishing, Pointe West offers two pools, hot tubs, a game room and lounge with flat-screen TVs, walking and biking trails, a restaurant and bar, and a fitness center.
We provide scheduled, supervised activities that appeal to every age range and activity level, from making tye-dyed t-shirts and sand art to video game contests.
All activities are facilitated by an adult activities assistant.
Legal guidelines require that all children under 6 years of age must always be accompanied by an adult.
Concerning rip tides along Galveston Island beach: as with any beach, rip tides may be present in certain weather conditions, and may be strong at certain times of the year in certain locations along Galveston Island beach, particularly between the 2nd and 3rd sand bars. Swimming in the Gulf is at your own risk.
Are there activities at night where you can drop off kids and then parents can go to dinner?
From time to time, we schedule simultaneous events for parents and their children so parents may enjoy a dinner together or with friends. Check with the Activities staff for more information.
Are golf carts available for rent on-property?
We do not offer golf cart rentals at Pointe West. If you wish to rent a golf cart during your stay, we can refer you to a golf-cart rental company nearby.
How far is the hustle and bustle of the island from Pointe West?
Pointe West is located in the West end area, which is about a 20-minute drive from the island's main tourist area. The West-end beaches are the most secluded, and in our case, the beach is closed to traffic. The beach in front of Pointe West is maintained by the Property Owners Association.
Are there places to eat at on the West end without having to go into town?
We recommend our own daily creations at our on-property restaurant, Breezes. If you choose to dine off-property, several restaurants are within a 10- to 20-minute drive, such as Richards on the Bay, Novo's Seafood and Steak and the Blue Water Grill.
