Tips to make your vacation at Hali'i Kai more enjoyable:
You may wish to stop by a grocery store before you arrive at Hali'i Kai, as the nearest one is small and quite expensive. You will need to go into Kona, which is about 10 miles south of the airport, or Waikoloa Village, which is about 10 miles north of Hali'i Kai. Here are some choices for grocery shopping:

What is the minimum age required to rent a villa?
You must be a minimum of 21 years of age.
What is your deposit, payment and cancellation policy?
- A 50% deposit is required to confirm reservation at time of booking via a MasterCard, Visa, Amex or check
- Reservations made within 7 days of arrival will be charged the full amount
- Payment is refundable if cancelled 31 days or more prior to scheduled arrival date
- Reservations cancelled 30 days or less forfeit all payments
- No refunds for early departures
- A valid MasterCard, Visa or Amex is required at the time of check-in for the damage waiver fee and incidental resort charges
- Minimum 2-night stay may be required
- Certain holiday periods are subject to peak season rates and may require a minimum 4-night stay.
- Reservations made for certain holiday periods may be charged the full amount at time of reservation
Do you have monthly or long-term rates?
Yes, we do. All of our rentals are managed through our affiliated real estate brokerage, Centex Hospitality Rentals. Please contact our management staff for details about long-term rentals.
All Hali'i Kai villas include:
- Fully-equipped kitchens with dishware, cookware and appliances.
- Washer and dryer
- Basic amenities that hotels provide such as luxury bed and bath linens, soaps and shampoo.
Do you allow smoking in the villas?
Currently we do not have any villas in which smoking is permitted.
What about Housekeeping?
Fresh towels and a light cleaning will occur mid-stay on stays of 6 nights or more. If you prefer, you may request daily trash and towel service; a $10 fee is charged per day for this service.
What do I need to bring with me?
We recommend you bring the essentials that you always take with you when you travel, such as clothing, medications, hair dryer, sunscreen, etc.
You may want to stop by a grocery store on your way to Hali'i Kai and pick up the food and drink items you may want for your stay.
Do you allow pets?
Waikoloa Beach Resort restricts pets on the property, except for service animals. We honor this policy at Hali'i Kai.
Is there WiFi access at Hali'i Kai?
Most villas have high-speed Internet access; WiFi access is available at the Ocean Club.
How far is it to the beach?
It is approximately a one-mile walk on the beautiful Kings Trail, which is a paved, ocean-front pathway that takes you through an ancient lava field. It is not treacherous. In fact, it is a wonderful experience with a million dollar view. You can also drive to the beach, which takes about 5 minutes.
What about parking around the villas?
Most villas have single, detached garages, otherwise there is a carport and open parking spaces. There is ample parking around each building.
Is the Beach accessible to the handicapped?
Yes, there are ramps and the road is paved.
What kinds of activities does Hali'i Kai provide?
We plan to offer the following activities:
- Manager's cocktail party - weekly
- Friday night fresh Kona Lobster BBQ
- Hawaiian entertainment poolside -twice weekly
- Ice cream sundae parties
- Fitness training in our ocean-front Exercise Hale
What is there to do for children, teens, and adults?
- The Ocean Club features a 3-tiered pool with ample lounging areas. The children's pool is at the top of 3 levels, and the pool progressively gets deeper with each level.
- The fitness center (Exercise Hale) overlooks the ocean where, at certain times of the year, whale sightings are very common.
- Hali'i Kai is located within the beautiful Waikoloa Beach Resort, which features two golf courses and the Kings Shops. The Kings Shops offer excellent shopping, dining, and nightly entertainment.
Are there places to eat without having to drive into Kona?
The Ocean Club Bar and Grill at Hali'i Kai serves a variety of island-inspired lunches and "pupus" (appetizers) Monday-Saturday 11:30 a.m. - 6:30 p.m.
In the Waikoloa Beach Resort, of which Hali'i Kai is a part, there are two golf courses very near the community, Kings Course and Beach Course-both of which offer dining in their Grills. The Kings Course, located adjacent to Hali'i Kai, features the Kings Grill, which serves breakfast, lunch, and dinner. The Beach Course's Beach Grill serves lunch and dinner.
The Kings Shops, located in the Waikoloa Beach Resort, provides several dining options from casual to upscale. The Kings Shops also includes a small, yet comprehensive, convenience store.
The Shops at Mauna Lani, about a 10-minute drive away, include a selection of restaurants and shops.
